Dhul Hijjah

One of the main observances during Dhul Hijjah is the Hajj pilgrimage, where believers gather in Mecca to perform rituals and seek closeness to Allah (SWT). This event symbolizes unity and submission to God’s will.

The Day of Arafah, when our beautiful religion Islam was complete, and Eid-al-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice, fall within the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah. Muslims worldwide celebrate Eid-al-Adha, commemorating Prophet Ibrahim’s (AS) willingness to sacrifice his son, highlighting gratitude, reflection, and charity.

Throughout Dhul Hijjah, it’s about fulfilling religious obligations and recognizing our interconnectedness and serving Allah’s creations. Through acts of charity, compassion, and unity, we strive to draw closer to our Creator and embody the teachings of Islam.

To benefit from these best 10 days of the year, here are 4 good deeds you can do:

📿 Recite Dhikr – “There are no days greater before Allah or in which good deeds are more beloved to Him than these ten days, so recite a great deal during them.” – Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) [Ahmad]

🌞 Fast – “Fasting the Day of Arafah expiates the sins of two years: the past one and the coming one.” – Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) [Muslim]

🐐 Give Qurbani – Eid Sacrifice or Qurbani is an act following in the footsteps of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) who observed this practice every year. Qurbani takes place after the Eid prayer on Eid-al-Adha, from the 10th till before the end of the 12th day of Dhul Hijjah.

🤲🏽 Make Du’a for the Ummah – Make sincere du’a for the peace and safety of our brothers and sisters suffering around the globe. May Allah SWT shower them with His Mercy and keep them steadfast in these tragic times.

Let’s make the most of these blessed days, insha’Allah!
