Core Team
A powerful team of dedicated, highly productive professionals, led directly by the Religious Director.
Who We Are
The Core Team is a powerful team of dedicated, highly productive professionals, led directly by the Religious Director. Its members bring expertise from their professions and lead key areas of our work: programs, outreach, media, recruitment, and sisters' programs.
It has its own seats and its own application, separate from general volunteering and staff positions.

Core Team
What the Team Does
Advise
Give the Religious Director honest, expert advice on SIA's direction, priorities, and decisions.
Lead initiatives
Take SIA's key initiatives from idea to delivery, each member leading the area of their seat.
Represent the community
Bring the voices of sisters, youth, and families into planning, so programs meet real needs.
Share expertise
Contribute professional skills, from finance to technology to counselling, where SIA needs them most.
How It Works
Reports to the Religious Director
The committee works directly with the Religious Director, Shaykh Ahmad Wardak, and advises on SIA's work.
One seat, one area
Each member holds a seat, such as Sisters Lead or Programs Lead, and leads that area's work.
Regular meetings
Members meet regularly to share progress, plan together, and advise on decisions.
Its own application
Seats are filled through the Core Team application, separate from general volunteering and staff positions.
For sisters
A dedicated Sisters Lead
One seat on the Core Team is held by the Sisters Lead, the team's dedicated female lead. She leads SIA's programs for sisters, including gatherings, workshops, and sister volunteers at both masjids, and makes sure sisters' voices shape the team's decisions.
